Izak joined Heyns and Partners Inc. as a candidate attorney during 2011 and was admitted as an attorney during February 2013.
Izak initially practiced at our now defunct Johannesburg office, where he attended to opposed foreclosure applications on behalf of a major South African bank. In that time he was also responsible for liquidation applications launched on behalf of several of our corporate clients.
With the closure of our Johannesburg office, Izak was transferred to our Goodwood office where he practice as a professional assistant.
Izak currently attends to general litigation cases and also assist a large number of correspondent attorneys with matters in the jurisdiction of surrounding magistrate courts.
He was the attorney of record for the reported case MvV 2016 ZAWCHC 44, in which the Cape Town High Court held that when parties married in community of property divorces whilst they are awaiting transfer of property from the Department of Human Settlements, such immovable property and its transfer must be regarded as an asset in the parties’ joint estate. Accordingly it stands to be awarded to or forfeited by one of the parties upon the divorce being finalised, despite the transferring of the immovable property occurring after divorce.
Background: Liezel served her articles of clerkship with the firm of Malan Lourens Viljoen Attorneys in 2012 and 2013, and was admitted as an attorney at the beginning of 2014. She joined Heyns and Partners Inc in 2014 as a Professional Assistant.
She specialises in High Court and Magistrate’s Court litigation and her main areas of practice are, firstly, Family Law, in which she obtained a Master’s degree in 2011, and secondly, general litigation.
Liezel enjoy the outdoors, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Background: Elistea was admitted as an attorney, conveyancer and notary public in 2007. Her fields of practice include property law and all conveyancing matters, administration of deceased estates and estate planning. She joined the firm during 2016. She is an avid reader, enjoys the out-doors, travelling and music.
Background: Nicole obtained her BA (Law) and LLB degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, whereafter she graduated from the UCT School for Legal Practice, with distinction. She served her articles of clerkship at Heyns and Partners in 2016 and was admitted as an attorney in 2017. She is employed as a Professional Assistant in the litigation department, with an interest in High Court and Magistrate’s Court civil litigation. As a foodie, Nicole enjoys new culinary experiences, going to the theatre and spending quality time with family and friends.
Background: Raisa obtained her LLB at UWC in 2014 and commenced articles of clerkship at Laas and Scholtz attorneys in 2015 while doing PLT at UNISA. She was admitted as an attorney in August 2016 and joined Heyns and Partners as a Professional Assistant in February 2017 in its civil litigation department. Her interests are Magistrates and High Court civil litigation. In her spare time she enjoy experimenting with cooking, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
